Before you make your booking, here are a few things you need to know.
Doonas and pillows are provided for you. Please bring your own bottom sheet, pillowcases and either a top sheet or a doona cover. Bedrooms 1-4 requires singles sheet set. Bedrooms 5-7 requires a queen and singles sheet sets. Please bring your own towels.
There are seven bedrooms in our lodge. Beds are booked individually (double beds count as two separate beds). If you wish to book an entire room, you must book all beds in the room. Beds not booked can be booked by others.
Booking beds is easy using our online booking system and paying by PayPal. Once you book and pay online your booking is immediately confirmed.
Once you book and pay online, your booking is immediately confirmed. When using the booking system, note that all dates refer to nights stayed at Austen. Weekend nights shown on the booking grid are Friday and Saturday nights. Midweek nights are Sunday to Thursday.
No split weekends during the winter high season. Child rates apply for 3-15 years olds inclusive. Infants below 3 years old are not required to be booked separately, however, they cannot occupy a separate bed unless booked.
Each booking is for a particular number of beds over a continuous number of days. If you have party members coming or going during your whole stay, then you will need to make separate bookings for each of those intermediate periods, to avoid paying for unused beds.
The Booking Manager has absolute discretion to manage bookings, subject to these Booking Rules and Austen Committee decision. At times, the Booking Manager may have to change bed/room allocations in order to optimise the use of lodge beds during busy periods.
All bookings are covered by the Mt Hotham Snow Guarantee. If less than 3 lifts including an Intermediate Lift are running due to lack of snow 3 days before your booking you may elect to have a full refund of your booking at Austen, or alternatively reschedule your booking. Refer to Mt Hotham webpage for full details.
Check in time is 2pm and departure time is 12 midday. All people using the Lodge must clean and vacate their rooms, cupboard and fridge space by 12 midday on departure day. Gear may be stored neatly in the Lodge until actual departure which should be by 5pm.
There must be a minimum of two nights booked and a minimum of $140 (i.e. 4 persons) per night to open the lodge. Any extra persons are charged $35 per night. To make a summer booking email the Booking Secretary at firstname.lastname@example.org
